Artmine Press Release

Abstract painting is Connie Cannon's voice.  As a stay-at-home, happily
married mother of two, she finds an outlet and platform in her work.  She
advocates help for children with brachial plexus injuries and uses her work
to abstractly reflect on the bonding between mothers and children. This
abstract reflection or exploration is a meditative blending of textures and
mark-making that reaches across many moods, styles, and surfaces.

Her Final pieces are non-objective fields of drips, brush marks, tiny objects,
spatters, and layers of built-up paint.  The works of art beg the viewer to
project into the work the experience of the artist making the painting,
which provides a
unique interpretation from the viewer.

Cannon's work may appear fast and slow, spontaneous or contemplative, energetic or reserved.  In every case, her work contains materials dictated by mood, intuition, her subconscious, and the nature of the material she uses.  Cannon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.  A portion of her sales benefits the Southern California Brachial Plexus Network (SCBPN) and United Brachial Plexus Network (UBPN).
