addicted Aluminum on Wood (11 ¼”x 11 ¼”) Long Beach Arts “Found Object” exhibit was juried by Christopher Sands. “Raised in the 60’s as a Buddhist on the mountains of Seoul, Korea, I was taught to conserve and reuse. When I arrived in America on my 11th birthday, I was overwhelmed with abundance of food and toys. As much as I loved my new country, I held on to the old customs of recycling. “Addicted” represents our obsession with sugar, caffeine, and drugs; that too much of a good thing can actually be a bad thing. During my research, I discovered that “Coca-Cola” was derived from the word “cocaine”, a substance that was used in sodas back when “Coca-Cola” was first introduced to the public.” Connie Cannon
