I am
I am a human being With hopes and fears and feelings and I am a student Using my mind to learn and grow. I am a writer With compassion for all living beings and I am a musician Loving life and everything about it. I am a woman With my life stretching long and promising ahead of me.

Risking
To laugh is to risk appearing the fool. To weep is to risk appearing sentimental. To reach out for another is to risk involvement. To expose feelings is to risk exposing your true self. To place your ideas, your dream before the crowd is to risk their loss. To love is to risk not being loved in return. To live is to risk dying. To hope is to risk despair. To try is to risk failure. But risks must be taken because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing. The person who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing and is nothing. She may avoid suffering and sorrow, but she simply cannot learn, feel, change, grow, love, and live. Chained by her own fears, she is slave; she has forfeited freedom. Only person who risks is free!
Wendy Rayner
Anyway
People are illogical and self-centered. Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives. Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies. Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable. Be honest and frank anyway.
What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight. Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack you if you help them. Help them anyway.
Give the world the best you’ve got and you’ll get kicked in the teeth. Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
Open up your heart and show your love, you may be rejected. Open up your heart and show your love anyway.
By Greg Cramer
After a while you learnthe subtle difference between holding a hand and chaining soul. And you learn that love doesn’t mean leaning, and company doesn’t always mean security. And you begin to learn that kisses aren’t contracts and presents aren’t promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats with the grace of a woman, not the grief of a child. And you begin to build your roads on today because tomorrow’s ground is too uncertain for plans, and futures have way of falling down in mid-flight.
After a while you learn that even sunshine burns if you ask too much. So you plant your own garden, and you decorate your own soul, rather than waiting for someone to bring you flowers. And you learn that you really can endure. That you really are strong, and that you really do have worth And you learn, and you learn, with every goodbye you learn. After a while.
